Is there a reliable way to tell that the email I accept sent has been read past the recipient?

The brusque answer is NO!

There are three main methods used to bank check whether an email has been read.

• A Read Receipt
• A Commitment Receipt
• An image in an HTML email.

None of these methods are reliable and to a certain extent are pointless.

The Read Receipt

What is completely pointless is setting read receipts in the program (in Tools / Options / Email Options / Tracking Options) and then that information technology is requested for every electronic mail you send. This will serve to badger many recipients and foul upwards the Internet with unnecessary traffic.

The Delivery Receipt

Again in Outlook the delivery receipt attempts to transport y'all a bulletin to tell you whether your email has successfully found the electronic mail server for the recipient.  It doesn't tell yous whether the e-mail has actually been read and at best it volition confirm that the electronic mail address yous sent to exists.  However many email servers will non even provide whatever delivery information (maybe to forestall spammers getting such information).
